姜文,葛優,周韻,舒淇,文章,王志文,洪晃,劉利年,那英,劉索拉,牛犇,姜洪齊北洋政府統治時期，盤踞上海的軍閥武大帥之子武七（文章 飾）為洗刷恥辱，輾轉找到了前清遺老馬走日（姜文 飾）求助。在此之后，馬走日和在法租界當警督的發小項飛田（葛優 飾）聯手策劃了名為“花域總統選舉”的大型選美活動，和馬從小就認識的現總統完顏英（舒淇 飾）成功衛冕。誰知就在繁華喧囂的最頂點，命運之車竟急轉直下駛向深淵。在一個平凡的早上，完顏陳尸郊野，張皇失措的馬走日找到武七的姐姐武六（周韻 飾）及其母親齊老師（洪晃 飾），希望通過大帥幫自己洗刷殺人犯的罪名，結果卻盲打誤撞救下了險些被整死的項飛田。背負殺人犯之名的馬絕路逃亡，而武六則以該事件拍攝了名為《槍斃馬走日》的電影，馬的命運愈加撲朔迷離…… 本片根據民國奇案“閻瑞生案”改編。

洪金寶,鐘鎮濤,王祖賢,梁珊,曹查理,陳友在一家珠寶貿易公司工作的肥丁（洪金寶）因是胖仔外加做人老實，常被老板娘周太（梁珊）和其弟（曹查理）騎在頭上，重活臟活全要攬下不說，工作稍微出點錯就會被罵得狗血淋頭。一日，他和在貨運部工作的同事阿B（鐘鎮濤）一起按老板吩咐送鉆石給中東酋長，之后將所收錢款送往銀行的途中遭劫，周太和其弟不問青紅誣告兩人與劫匪是同伙。 越想越來氣的肥丁決定綁架周太以泄壓抑已久的怒火。在他準備行動之時，周家剛從美國歸來的女兒祖兒（王祖賢）正同后母周太發生激烈的爭吵，結果陰差陽錯祖兒被他綁架，之后又被阿B綁至家中。肥丁在阿B的逼迫下無奈向周家索要贖金，一時笑料百出。
好像一切都很糟糕

Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
