  某年圣誕節(jié)期間,位于一個(gè)僻靜舒適角落的格蘭達(dá)爾森林旅館正式開業(yè)。美麗的女店主阿哈娜(碧帕莎·芭素 Bipasha Basu 飾)為了這一天可謂煞費(fèi)苦心,她以一己之力安排旅館內(nèi)的一切事務(wù),與此同時(shí)第一批客人也接二連三入住。雖然狀況不斷,不過旅館的開業(yè)儀式總算順利進(jìn)行了下來,而且她還因誤會(huì)結(jié)識(shí)了擁有迷人氣質(zhì)的客人庫(kù)納爾·阿南德(Imran Abbas 飾)。然而在前一晚,給旅店送貨的司機(jī)遭到不明生物的襲擊,死狀可怖。次日,一對(duì)新婚燕爾的夫妻也在叢林中遇襲。  恐怖的死亡氣氛迅速蔓延,阿哈娜好不容易建立起來的夢(mèng)想旅館,面臨怪物的無情毀滅……

幼獸

  由克里斯(Titus De Voogdt 飾)和皮特(Stef Aerts 飾)帶隊(duì)并由數(shù)名十幾歲的男孩組成的童子軍即將前往靠近法國(guó)邊境的某座森林里露營(yíng),出發(fā)前他向孩子們講述了一個(gè)可怕的傳說,據(jù)說森林里有一種被稱為“凱”的半人半獸怪物肆虐橫行,當(dāng)?shù)厝寺勶L(fēng)喪膽。它的模樣如同人狼,凡是被它咬過的人都會(huì)受到感染變成人狼。孩子們?nèi)呵榧ぐ海瑳Q心痛揍人狼,隨后跟隨克里斯坐上卡車出發(fā)。陽光明媚的時(shí)節(jié),孩子們?cè)诼稜I(yíng)地快樂玩耍,不過并不受眾人待見的小男孩薩姆(Maurice Luijten 飾)似乎格外在意“凱”的存在,他在挖洞時(shí)聲稱一度看到“凱”的身影,隨后更在營(yíng)地附近發(fā)現(xiàn)一處神秘的巢穴。  夜幕降臨,可怕的身影悄悄向營(yíng)地接近,薩姆的命運(yùn)發(fā)生徹底改變……

地心記

  為了找尋失蹤的叔叔,年輕人自己設(shè)計(jì)了地心探險(xiǎn)船,卻被人剽竊,結(jié)果只能接受事實(shí),因?yàn)樯倘舜饝?yīng)讓他帶隊(duì)去尋找失落的文明。 然而商人手里有一塊神秘碎片,如果他找到其余碎片就可以擁有強(qiáng)大的力量。另一部分傳說在地心,在那里也有一個(gè)世界,于是他贊助一些科學(xué)家去地心做科學(xué)研究,其實(shí)是為了實(shí)現(xiàn)他的野心,科學(xué)家們乘坐年輕人發(fā)明的有大鉆頭的飛船到了地心,在那里他們發(fā)現(xiàn)有原始人,通過他們的壁畫知道他們的祖先是從地上順著火山口進(jìn)到地心的,他們還結(jié)交了白色的人形怪物并成為朋友。然而在這里還有一個(gè)身上插了很多導(dǎo)管,管子里流淌著綠色液體的邪惡統(tǒng)治者,整個(gè)地心世界由他控制....

等待方舟

  Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.  Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?  n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.  What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.  On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.  One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.  Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
