三十歲的Juliette來到海邊餐廳找情夫，正與妻子共進午餐的情夫匆忙出餐廳給她電話。Juliette大聲回答，似乎有意說給一旁妻子聽。再見Juliette是在預審官辦公室，指控她涉嫌其情夫自殺。爭吵過程中，Juliette說她14歲時生過一個男孩。敏感的預審官Sophie偷偷給她領養的兒子做DNA，發現Juliette是他生母。Sophie對Juliette的案子失去公正判斷，導致Juliettte坐牢。其丈夫Olivier不贊成妻子隱瞞Juliette和養子關系的真相，在Juliette出獄后，偷偷救濟她。Juliette以為Olivier有目的，便主動獻身勾引。可Olivier還是沒有告知真相。后來Juliette發現Olivier是Sophie的丈夫，于是在他們全家坐游輪度假，也登上了那艘船。在不明真相的情況下，和自己兒子上床。看到裸體Juliette出現在兒子房間的甲板上，Olivier失蹤了。而Sophie在泳池邊看到倆人，最終告訴Juliette真相。她在下一站下船離開了。岸邊，警方打撈上一句尸體。

Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
