　　大光燈是富家闊少爺，由法國返回香港，繼承遺產，怎料繼父已將全部遺產贈送慈善機構，遺下給他的只是四字真言：自力更生。一夜之間，闊少爺落難無家可歸，暫寄居前管家炎叔家中，與此同時，大光燈開始尋回已各奔前程的昔日四個樂隊——人行支票樂隊的隊友，是非精、檸檬頭、貓糞。貓糞是頗負名氣的舞男，是非精貪圖金錢，好逸惡勞，甘愿繼續其舞男生涯，而檸檬頭經不斷碰壁，放棄對表妹的盲目追求，與小鳳同赴外國深造，生意則轉讓給大光經營……
