 小學生典道（山崎裕太）與佑價（反田孝幸）等同伴們就煙花升騰而起時是扁是圓展開爭論，無果后，眾人困惑起來，為了將困惑解決，他們決定趁夏季花火大會的機會去燃放煙花的燈塔上一探究竟。典道和佑價同時暗戀的同學，早熟的少女奈砂（奧菜惠）因為父母離異懷起心事。一場在典道和佑價之間進行的五十米游泳比賽結束后，奈砂單約勝利者佑價陪她去看煙花，不想對方最終決定同大伙一起去燈塔。奈砂最終拉上比賽失敗的典道上路，目的地卻變成了火車站甚至更遠的東京。
