Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 忠勇之家

 故事發生在一九三九年的夏天，克里姆（沃爾特·皮金 Walter Pidgeon 飾）和妻子米尼佛夫人（葛麗亞·嘉遜 Greer Garson 飾）住在英國郊外，兩人結婚多年，生了三個孩子，生活幸福美滿。克里姆的大兒子韋恩（理查德·內伊 Richard Ney 飾）愛上了花會創辦人的孫女貝爾（特雷莎·懷特 Teresa Wright 飾），情投意合的兩人很快走到了一起。戰爭開始了，韋恩想要為國效忠，趕往了前線，而克里姆和米尼佛夫人則在后方支援。某日，一名德國飛行員受傷闖入了米尼佛夫人的后花園，米尼佛夫人憑借著自己的勇敢與智慧協助警察成功將其捉拿。米尼佛夫人和貝爾小姐在送韋恩前往駐地的途中遭遇了空襲，一時間兇多吉少。
