　　正值青春期的少女艾瑪（蘇菲·瓦瓦希爾 Sophie Vavasseur 飾）因小事與父母發生爭吵，繼而用玻璃碎片割破自己的手掌。在此之后，父母子女的關系雖有所松動，但是新的危機已悄悄展開。艾瑪是不是會做出些奇怪的舉止，這令父母異常擔心，于是只得將艾瑪留在家中接受教育。期間他們嘗試帶女兒去看具有催眠本領的心理醫生，誰知醫生最終猝死艾瑪的膝上。艾瑪自感自己已被魔鬼附體，因此不顧崇尚科學的父母的反對，執意求助于因驅魔失敗而被革除神職的舅舅基斯（道·布萊德利 Doug Bradley 飾）。　　基斯似乎漸漸證實了艾瑪的猜測，而她體內那股邪惡的力量也變得越來越強大……

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
