　　故事背景發生在抗日戰爭時期，主角郭東是一名獸醫，他的妻兒慘遭日本兵殺害，從此躲到了草原邊陲的一個小鎮上，過著惶惶不可終日的生活。郭東的自暴自棄使得他與當地人產生許多矛盾。就在此時，一名蒙古族孕婦的生命危在旦夕，眾人無奈之下求助郭東，郭東在新生命的洗禮和蒙古族戰士的感染下，重新明白了"英雄"的意義，完成了自我救贖。

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 電影講述張曉軍夫婦發現倒賣醬丞相期貨酒可以賺錢，于是開始一系列的買賣操作，可實際上他們中了對方的詐騙圈套，為了要回被騙的錢財，夫婦倆斗智斗勇成功抓捕騙子。本片是一部反詐騙題材的喜劇電影。

　　1930年代，小云、小紅（周璇）姐妹被人騙到上海賣給琴師和妓院老鴇夫婦，小云被迫做了暗娼，小紅年紀尚小，又天生有一副好嗓子，便隨琴師去茶樓終日賣唱。姐妹兩人住在貧民窟，在她們對面，住的分別是報販老王和吹鼓手陳少平（趙丹）。因為閑來無事時陳少平常同小紅對窗玩鬧，兩人漸生感情。　　小紅賣唱時被流氓古成龍纏上，對方欲強霸她為妾，小紅找陳少平商量對策，兩人本想借助律師將正義伸張，不想律師雙眼只認錢，無奈之下只得逃走，而這一過程中，老王對小云由憐生愛，可是小云卻因自卑不敢正視。琴師偶知陳少平與小紅下落，放風給古成龍，古成龍趕到小紅住處時，屋里只有她和小云，兩人生命危在旦夕。
