　　19世紀末的西班牙巴塞羅那，阿圖爾·普拉特（塞爾吉·馬特烏 Sergi Mateu 飾）經營著慈父望遠鏡行，他事業有成，家境富裕，但是愛女喬安娜（芭芭拉·格娜加 Bárbara Goenaga 飾）因出生時患有腦炎，因此自幼罹患了一種極為罕見的病癥——失認癥（agnosia）。這種病癥讓她在身體各個感官都健全的情況下，無法順利地認知周遭的人與物。　　阿圖爾長久以來都在努力尋找治好女兒的辦法，而他所掌握的商業機密也都成為同行乃至合作伙伴急欲得到的珍寶。父親臨終之際，將商業機密托付給了喬安娜。與此同時，愛情與誘惑接連降臨，而在這份看似浪漫的追求背后，利欲熏心的人們用無情卑鄙的手段傷害著無助的喬安娜……

　　教授“精神心理衛生”的陳聰明（王洛勇 飾）在評定教授職稱的課上口出驚人之語，校長再也無法容忍這位行為瘋癲的老師，于是后者進入一家惟利是圖的精神病院暫時棲身。在這家醫院工作的梁海潮（袁文康 飾）難以忘記前妻柳悅（張靜初 飾），經陳聰明開導，梁海潮決定把前妻從開補藥店的蕭春雷（陳曉東 飾）那里奪回來。此時，日日與補藥作伴的柳悅在工作時崩潰，也被送入精神病院，在陳聰明幫助下，梁海潮將柳悅救出，而蕭春雷將柳悅的藥吃下導致情緒失控，被精神病院關押。梁海潮認為奪回前妻的時機已到，而陳聰明則開始想法幫助受害的蕭春雷……
